Introduction Letter
Dear Parents,
My name is Ms.Kathleen Bryant I am your Student(s) Art Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. My office hours for parent conferences are 2:35 pm. in room #307. My email address is [email protected] I look forward to working with your son/daughter and hope they will develop new talents,skills, and abilities this year.I love teaching art and will do everything I can to make this year a very successful and happy one. In order that efficient teaching and learning occur the following will be in place.
Classroom Procedures:
1. Materials
All materials needed for artworks/projects will be distributed by the teacher on tables or designated areas. All students are required to clean all materials used and return them to appropriate places.
2.Painting
Days where painting projects will be produced students will need to come into classroom, gather appropriate materials: paint,paper,water,brushes.Finished paintings will be placed on drying rack. Paint will be placed back on shelf closed.Students will wash all brushes and place them into proper drying cups upside down. Students will also clean all tables and areas effected with paint or water.
3.Clay
Clay will be distributed by teacher and students will need to place newspaper on tables to keep area clean. All clay tools will be on tables or in designated areas.When clay is ready for firing,students will give clay works to teacher, to be placed into kiln.Students will clean all tools/area and throw away soiled newspaper. Excess clay will be given back to the teacher.
4. Art Critiques
On critique days students will come into classroom, retrieve finished artworks and remain seated. The teacher will call upon students to participate in the critique. The student up for critique will tack 2-D artwork on chalkboard or 3-D work on designated table in front of class.Students will raise hands to ask questions/comments.After a student is critiqued the student must turn in finished artwork.
5.Finished Artworks/Projects
Finished artwork will beturned into appropriate boxes with name,date,section #, and attached grading rubrics.

2. Only the teacher is allowed in the kiln room and to distribute dangerous/hazardous materials.This is in order to provide safety for all art students.
3.Students will act appropriate and follow all school district behavior rules.This is to provide sufficient safety for others and create a positive learning environment.
4.Students will raise hand in order to be acknowledged. This is in order to respectfully acknowledge the student and teacher.
5. All Students will use only the materials needed and will not take materials out of room. This is to ensure that every student will get the appropriate materials and not reduced the amount of materials in the Art department.
